This site discusses phimosis in its specific forms of phimotic ring, frenulum breve, adhesions or skinbridges. During erection these conditions inhibit the relationship between foreskin and glans. This functionally restricts the erection, and thus has an effect on the sexuality. With our culture's attitudes on health care, it would be appropriate to encourage early prevention.

2012 : note from author: My previous idea of monitoring boys before puberty is impractical, unecessary and now only of historical interest. please see Postscript.

FRENULOPLASTY

The first photo was taken some time before the operation.

The penis of a Dutch boy operated by frenuloplasty in 2003. The frenulum was cut in 4 places and the little wounds were stitched crosswise.

The photograph with the stitches was made 3 days after the operation. This kind of treatment can cause some bleeding during the first days afterwards. The stitches are inconvenient. After a week the stitches are gone or removed. The last photo shows what it looks like some months after the operation. Scar tissue by the lower stitches caused some superfluous skin tissue and was aesthetically less successful. Maybe this will disappear after some time.
