This site discusses phimosis in its specific forms of phimotic ring, frenulum breve, adhesions or skinbridges. During erection these conditions inhibit the relationship between foreskin and glans. This functionally restricts the erection, and thus has an effect on the sexuality. With our culture's attitudes on health care, it would be appropriate to encourage early prevention.

STONE-AGE ALL CURES - infant circumcision

One of the most bizarre developments of modern medicine is Routine Infant Circumcsion. In the USA a full circumcision is often practised previous to the mother holding her new born baby.

It must surely be one of the greatest examples of cultural negligence to first surgically intefere with a child's natural development, and then make no post-operative examination.

e.g.3 "I was circumcised too tightly. ...Intercourse can be painful. Without lots of lubrication, it has always been too painful for me. . ... I have found that the anxiety produced by expecting pain, immediately ends the possibility of intercourse. ... I was so tightly circumcised, that I wasn't aware that it was even normal for the skin to be able to move."

e.g.4 "I was circumcised when I was 10 months old because of a phimosis. For reasons which I still don't know, the surgeon left on the penis some seven skin bridges ... connecting the glans with the shaft. .... My erect penis was a little bit curved on the right, ... One of the skin bridges broke during love-making (when I was 26) ... skin bridges were removed when I was 32. (RS. after they were removed the phallus straightened out). I was really asking myself - especially during puberty - what are these "skin bridges" ?, are they normal ? ... It is curious to get clear answers only when one is 47"

e.g.5 "This was significant trauma throughout my life, wondering why I had this extra hole (RS. skin bridges sometimes form in sheets of skin leaving a hole) in my penis, and how it got there. What I wanted then was a penis that at least looked like a "normal" circumcised penis. ... It's important to not feel like part of your body is disfigured,"

e.g.6 "Growing up I always noticed that my penis seemed different from those of others. I was always lost and confused why mine was so different. Then, I read your webpages. And it opened my eyes to what was going on. I have what you reffered to as skin bridges"

One man described the effects of a frenulum breve which was still intact after circumcision e.g.7 "I am a 24 year old circumcised male. When I am erect, I have a band of skin on the bottom of my penis that connects my head to the shaft. It becomes very tight and kind of angles my head in a downwards degree. I'm not sure if this can be operated on or not. But it makes me feel very uncomfortable and I am shy about showing it to woman, because I'm afraid they might think it's weird or gross or something."
