Adult circumsicion

I have Diabetis Tye II, I am not circumsized. Recently I developed
balanitis for the first time. I am not still out of it.
My urologist is suggesting circumsicion. I do not have phimosis. It is my understanding
that proper cleaning with water and drying should suffice.
It is this correct or I should go with the circumsicion.
