Stitches aren't dissolving

I was circ. about 15 days ago and so far most of my stitches are still intact. Only a few have fell out. It is becoming painful. I'm worried the skin will grow over them. Can anyone give me some advice on how to make them dissolve faster or if anyone has had the same problem.
